Center fielder Mark Kotsay went deep and had 2 RBI at the ballpark as the
London Hawk Lords beat the Caracas Leones by the count of 4 to 3.
London scored 2 runs in the 6th inning. Johnny Damon kicked off the action
when he drew a walk. Kotsay was next and he cleared the fences for a two-run
home run (his 7th of the season). Caracas had a chance to come back in the
9th but they came up short.
C.C. Sabathia(7-9) allowed 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Damaso Marte gained credit for his 6th save. Brad Penny(6-8) was
charged with the loss.
Alan Dyche was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It is really
hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but it is
easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just barely
get away that hurt so much - like this one!'
